Sustainable Solid Timber Construction for Contemporary Holiday Apartments, Vintl – image 1 of 6

The client owns the neighbouring Ansitz Troyenbach manor in Vintl. For the adjacent building – demolition and rebuilding – she set out an ambition that at first sounds like a contradiction: to build cost-effectively and luxuriously at the same time. And she brought the answer with her: her own fir timber.

01

The result is a rigorous solid timber building: walls, floors and roof in solid wood. No composite constructions, no claddings pretending to be something else – the material the house is made of is at once its surface, its scent, its climate. The luxury lies not in the fittings but in the substance: solid timber from here, which makes the holiday apartments warm, quiet and unmistakable.

02

The project thus answers a question many in alpine tourism are asking: how do you build contemporary holiday apartments that lose themselves neither in international chalet clichés nor in the DIY-store range? Here: with what is there – one’s own timber, a clear principle for the building components and the proximity of a historic manor that sets the scale. Completed in 2025.

„“It's turned out beautifully.”"
