Apartments in the listed Pfleghaus

Our project in Anras, the "hochfürstbischöfliche-brixnerische Pfleggerichtshaus Schloss Anras" (the former court house of the Prince-Bishops of Brixen), is a remarkable undertaking to restore and revitalise a significant cultural monument. The castle is not only of great cultural importance but also defines the character of the village.

Since 1989, part of the building has been owned by the Messerschmitt-Stiftung. After a comprehensive general refurbishment was completed in 1997, the castle was used as a museum and gallery, making it a popular cultural attraction for the municipality.

01

Our project began with a thorough needs assessment in the municipality to capture its cultural potential and interests. In doing so, we analysed your concerns and wishes closely in order to align the project as well as possible with the needs of the municipality.

02

At the heart of our efforts was a careful appraisal of the Anras site and the unique character of the Pfleghof. We wanted to ensure that the planned uses of the castle, in particular the museum offerings, fit well with the historic setting and safeguard the preservation of its cultural identity.

Our team of experienced experts examined the existing rooms of the Pfleghof in detail and thoroughly assessed their suitability for cultural purposes. We engaged intensively with architectural, building-historical and building-physics aspects in order to make the best use of the rooms and realise the full potential of the castle.

The centrepiece of our concept is the planned use of the individual floors. According to our plans, the ground floor of the castle will house a cosy café and three stylish apartments, creating a harmonious mix of cultural atmosphere and contemporary living.

05

The first floor will be used for municipal activities and events, involving the local community in the life of the castle and creating a lively meeting place.

06

The second floor and the attic are intended for exhibitions and events that present the castle’s cultural heritage and make it accessible to visitors.

Our project in Anras aims to revitalise the historic building as a living cultural centre that preserves its past while offering the people of today and tomorrow a special experience. We are proud to restore this significant cultural monument to its full splendour and to open it up as a place of encounter and inspiration for the municipality and its visitors.
