Set against the majestic backdrop of the Tyrolean Alps, the Marent Hotel stands as a synonym for Alpine luxury and unforgettable experiences. As the lead architects and planners behind the conversion and extension of this outstanding 4-star hotel in Fiss, it is our honour to give you an insight into our ambitious project.
The Marent is already a special place for rest, enjoyment and Alpine hospitality. The conversion and extension build on this identity. The architecture refers to the existing structure and the surrounding landscape, complementing them with clear, contemporary interventions and high-quality materials.
A central part of the project concerns the redesign of the bar, kitchen and restaurant. These areas are enhanced both spatially and atmospherically to give guests an even more intense experience of enjoyment and encounter. Warm materials, precisely placed light and well-proportioned sequences of rooms create an environment that is inviting and refined, yet relaxed.
At the same time, the hotel is extended with new offerings. The wellness area is enlarged and conceived as a quiet retreat with a strong connection to the mountain landscape. Additional rooms increase comfort and create more space for relaxation. The outdoor pool opens the hotel to the landscape and makes the Alpine surroundings directly tangible.
Functional areas such as the garage and circulation are also integrated into the overall concept. This creates not only more comfort for guests but also a clear, well-organised flow of hotel operations. Design and function are not considered separately but understood as a shared basis for a high-quality hotel experience.
The project shows how existing hotel architecture can be developed further without losing its identity. The conversion respects the character of the house and strengthens it through targeted interventions. The extension adds new qualities to the Marent – spatial, atmospheric and functional.
The result is an Alpine retreat in Fiss that does not stage luxury loudly but develops it from quality, calm and landscape. A hotel in which tradition and modernity come together as a matter of course – and in which guests can experience unforgettable moments in the Tyrolean mountains.
