House for a Single Person

In the world of building and architecture, the perfect balance between aesthetics, functionality and economy is often sought. This villa, however, is an outstanding example of how these elements can be brought into harmony. Low construction and running costs were the client's primary requirements, and the result is a villa that is not only architecturally impressive but also makes financial sense.

House for a single person

Low construction and running costs, high design ambitions and a precise functional organisation formed the starting point for this house. The result is a compact house for one person which shows that quality of living need not be defined by size, but by spatial clarity, good proportions and consistent planning.

01

The project does not understand the small house as a sacrifice but as a conscious decision. The reduced floor area allows an economical construction method, manageable maintenance costs and resource-efficient operation. At the same time, a living space emerges that is concentrated on the essentials and thereby gains generosity in everyday life.

02

The architecture follows a simple principle: every square metre takes on a clear task. The rooms are organised efficiently without feeling cramped. Openings, visual connections and the link to the outdoor space extend the house beyond its actual size and create a bright, calm living atmosphere.

At its heart is a model of living that combines independence, simplicity and quality. Less floor area means less effort for cleaning, maintenance and energy consumption – and more freedom in daily use. The house thus becomes a compact, affordable and sustainable alternative to the conventional detached family house.

The House for a Single Person shows that small building tasks can be architecturally ambitious. Through reduction, precision and a clear stance, a house emerges that is convincing in functional, economic and design terms.
