Bei uns 09.2009 – Brixner architecture supplement

The September 2009 issue of the “Bei uns” series in the Brixner magazine continued the coverage of our projects in Brixen. Unlike mere site-notice announcements, these articles placed our work in a broader urban and cultural-political context.
In Brixen, architecture is traditionally a public matter. The town debates building projects, school and sports sites, traffic routing and squares, and it does so in forums, in the local press, in citizens‘ initiatives. Anyone who wants to work here in the long term has to understand this discourse and help shape it.
Over the years we have learned that in Brixen architecture does not end when the building is finished; it continues in how the town perceives itself, in its cultural self-description. Articles such as “Bei uns 09/2009” were building blocks of this process and helped turn individual commissions into long-term relationships with the town and its institutions.
