Lecture at stoA / Initiative Architektur – 25 January 2024

On 25 January 2024, at the invitation of Initiative Architektur Salzburg, we gave a report on our work in the stoA lecture format. The lecture spanned the arc from our early farmhouse refurbishments in East Tyrol, via the neighbourhood developments in Brixen, to our current farmhouse, heritage and tourism projects.

Architecture and urban design are subject to constant change. Energy questions, demographic shifts, climate change, changing forms of mobility and a new approach to the existing fabric are altering what “good building” means in the Alpine region today. Anyone who wants to mediate between these through their own practice has to understand both the substance of the past and the demands of the future.

Initiative Architektur Salzburg has for years been an important forum for discourse on building, city and landscape in western Austria. We were pleased to be able to present a selection of our projects there, along with the methods that underlie them.
