TT 14.07.2007 – Institute of Architecture Innsbruck

In July 2007, the Tiroler Tageszeitung (Tyrol’s daily newspaper) turned its attention to the Innsbruck architecture scene and profiled, among others, Stadt:Labor – Architekten. At that point the practice was still at the start of its activity, but had already completed its first projects in Tyrol and South Tyrol.

The TT coverage centred on the question of what role a young architecture practice can play in the city, and how it manages to find a stance of its own between tradition, the transformation of existing buildings and new ways of building. Themes that still shape the practice today – sustainable architecture, building in the Alpine region, neighbourhood and village development – are already laid out in outline in this early coverage.

The TT of 14 July 2007 thus marks one of the practice’s early points of contact with the supra-regional architecture press and documents the beginning of a continuous media presence that was to carry on over the following decade and a half.
