Neighbourhood development Griesparkplatz, Kitzbühel

The aim of the project is to create a central meeting place for the residents of the municipality of Kitzbühel.

The neighbourhood development project for the Griesparkplatz in Kitzbühel has the overarching goal of developing an urban design solution that integrates harmoniously into the existing townscape and takes into account the requirements of the Stadt- und Ortsbildschutzgesetz (SOG, the Tyrolean act on the protection of town and village character). A programme of uses is to be developed that strengthens the sense of community among the local population without creating new housing. An important aspect is promoting social cohesion by incorporating facilities and services geared to the specific needs of the local population, such as the idea of a low-budget youth hostel. In addition, the project is intended to create publicly accessible spaces that help to bring the neighbourhood to life and increase the long-term attractiveness of the town of Kitzbühel.

This proposal covers the facilitation and implementation of a structured neighbourhood development process for the Griesparkplatz in Kitzbühel. The aim is to develop a forward-looking concept tailored to local needs that promotes social cohesion among the local population and enhances the public space. Close cooperation with the municipality and local partners is central to finding a sustainable solution that meets actual needs. The entire process is guided by the specific requirements of the Stadt- und Ortsbildgesetz (SOG) and the recommendations of the Gestaltungsbeirat (design advisory board)
