Neighbourhood development Griesparkplatz Kitzbühel

The aim of the project is to create a central meeting place for the residents of the municipality of Kitzbühel.
The overarching aim of the neighbourhood development project for the Griesparkplatz in Kitzbühel is to develop an urban design solution that integrates harmoniously into the existing townscape and meets the requirements of the Stadt- und Ortsbildschutzgesetz (SOG, the Tyrolean act protecting town and village character). A programme of uses is to be developed that strengthens the sense of community among the local population without creating new housing. An important aspect is fostering social cohesion by incorporating facilities and offerings geared to the specific needs of the resident population, such as the idea of a low-budget youth hotel. In addition, the project is to create publicly accessible spaces that help bring the neighbourhood to life and enhance the attractiveness of the town of Kitzbühel in the long term.
This proposal covers guiding and implementing a structured neighbourhood development process for the Griesparkplatz in Kitzbühel. The aim is to develop a forward-looking concept tailored to local needs that fosters social cohesion among the resident population and upgrades the public space. Close cooperation with the municipality and local partners is central to finding a sustainable solution that meets actual needs. The entire process follows the specific requirements of the Stadt- und Ortsbildgesetz (SOG) and the recommendations of the Gestaltungsbeirat (design advisory board).
