Holz Bau Preis Salzburg Tirol 2011 – proHolz Award

The Holzbaupreis 2011 (timber construction award), jointly organised by proHolz Salzburg and proHolz Tirol, documented the state of timber construction in both provinces. 190 projects were submitted and judged in nine categories – including housing, commercial, engineering, agriculture, public buildings, revitalisation and export.
In 2011 the Revitalisation category was awarded to the project „Haus mit Kapelle, Gärberbach“ (house with chapel) – a scheme in which Stadt:Labor – Architekten was involved. The award marks one of the early external endorsements of our work in the field of transforming existing buildings with timber elements.
The results of the Holzbaupreis 2011 were published for the first time in a joint brochure documenting the spectrum of regional timber construction. Anyone interested in the development of timber construction in western and southern Austria will find a continuous series of corresponding award archives in the proHolz archives of Salzburg and Tyrol.
