Setting out for the future: the Wastls in Lehn under construction

The Wastls, currently under construction, will comprise heated and unheated rooms, with the reactivated tiled stove in the former inn parlour serving as the central point. The restoration and partial dismantling of the existing building create the framework for innovative architectural changes. New “implants” are added to revitalise the structure both functionally and aesthetically.

On the first floor there will be an exhibition room. Here visitors can immerse themselves in the history of the valley and take part in various activities.

The open roof space will provide room for educational workshops, events and performances. It will also serve as a platform for courses in folk art and crafts that bring the cultural diversity of the region to life.

A significant feature of the museum under construction is the new extension on the north-west side. It will not only provide a step-free access ramp, but also a simple connection to both floors from the north. With its green roof, the extension will blend harmoniously into the natural surroundings and offer a multi-purpose room for events, workshops and exhibitions.

The Wastls museum under construction is not only a promising project, but also a symbol of setting out for the future. It promises to offer visitors a fascinating insight into regional history, paired with a contemporary feel and innovative design.
